It was Sunday and our first morning in NYC. At 5.30 I just couldn’t sleep anymore. Technically I could have, but I was way too excited to wake up in New York. So I woke up, went upstairs and took a cup of coffee that my mom had made. Obviously she had problems with sleeping as well.
My brother was hungry, so at 7 we stepped out and went to look for some fresh bagels. The streets were almost empty as some of the restaurants had closed just a couple of hours earlier. it still smelled like rain, although the day was getting sunnier hour by hour. Luckily Dunkin Donuts was open. We bargained six bagels and six donuts for $13.
